BEAMS is a student artist development program for Lincoln and Madison High School students, led by Program Coordinator LaKeem Wilson From September through December 2026, students develop up to six original, portfolio-ready works that express their identity, culture, community, and creative voice. The program combines studio instruction in drawing, sculpture, painting, printmaking, photography, and mixed media with professional critiques, mentorship, artwork digitization, artist writing, and application support. Students finish with completed artwork, professional digital images, written materials, and applications for the Carroll Harris Simms National Black Art Competition and Exhibition, college, scholarships, and future creative opportunities.
