Years of Practice. A Lifetime of Purpose.
Lakeem Wilson is a Dallas-based artist, curator, and cultural strategist. He was born in 1991 and
raised in South Dallas, and his work is deeply influenced by the culture of his urban community. He
holds a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin. Wilson's work often bridges public art,
historical preservation, and community empowerment. He has created more than 30 murals, many of
which are located in urban areas and are intended to be a beacon of hope and inspiration. He is
also a fine artist whose work explores themes of identity, freedom, and the human experience.

In addition to his artistic practice, Wilson is an active community leader and mentor. He is a co-founder
of Sky Blue Gallery, and also the sole proprietor of NaturalBorn Studios. He has served as the Chief
Curator for Dallas Weekly's Best of Black Dallas Awards and as an Artist Coordinator for the
Southwest Black Art Show. He is the current Associate Curator at the African American Museum in
Dallas, where he has contributed to and curated several major exhibitions.
